“Yesterday’s: Evening to Night”
2017?
Try to lay lightly
In that tall grass
Late, the sky looked
Burning for the past
Calling, bereft and empty, the Sun returned
But alas, left the man and the wolf half turned
Then asked, “Why and where?”
It is that the heels tamp, trample and tear
Pulling at strings the shadowed warmth stared
Back through the horizon
Hardly recognizing
That it didn’t just lust for her
But for what was theirs
